Brief
Develop a product that can capture, process and interpret information in such a way that it generates criticism of a local consequence generated by “Surveillence Capitalism”.
Cleo is an object that helps to visualize the relationship that exists between the data that we share in the menstrual monitoring apps and our consumptions habits.
The change in the intensity of the light is the reflection of the comparison between the expenses generated and the ads that are shown during each moment of the cycle. Thanks to the data provided by women at different moments of the cycle, it was defined that the moments with the most data exchange with respect to the advertisements are the menstrual and premenstrual periods, these being the moments in which they predispose the users so that the following moments, pre ovulation and ovulation, are when the heaviest expenses are made. With this, we seek to open the conversation about how personal data is used to be able to manipulate us when we tend to be more vulnerable when buying certain types of products.
