Tile Design Project
Tile #1
This was the first tile I made with Illustrator and it is my favorite. I was trying to recreate a 3D illusion with boxes however I failed at that. Despite my failure I like the pattern I went with instead I like the star-like shape that was formed in the middle which is made from 4 triangles that I placed on the sides of the tile.
For the origami for this tile I decided to make a ninja star because that is what the shape in the center reminded me of. I took my pictures on a black background to match the coloring of the pattern.

My second tile was actually harder than my first one despite looking much simpler, I also like my first one better. What made this tile hard was the shape in the center, I was unable to make all of the parts line up which really frustrates me, ultimately making this tile my biggest failure of the project.
For the origami for this pattern I felt like the orange reminded me of a fox so that's what I made. I used a blue background as that is the background color on my tile, and I used fallen maple leaves as props for my photos as the color of them is similar to the orange on my tile and the leaves nature theme blended with the fox origami. I added eyes and a nose on the pattern in illustrator before printing out the paper for folding.
