Polygon Animal, Pangolin

This is the Polygon animal project I did back in 11th grade. The point of this project was to take a picture of any animal we wanted and to redraw it entirely out of polygonal shapes. So I chose, my favorite animal, the Pangolin; a lesser known endangered species that is highly poached. When first deciding on this animal, my teacher thought that it was too similarly colored everywhere for the project to come out correctly and not look like a big brown blob, out of pure spite I chose to keep with the same photo and told him I would make it look good regardless of what he thought.

I really like how it turned out and I think I did a good job of proving my teacher wrong. Using many different shade of browns, and including the shadows below each individual armor plate gives gives each piece very good definition. I think the shadows in the area just between the left front and back leg tuned out extremely well and is for sure the best use of shadows and different browns on the whole image.
