PIHA : SKATE, MUSIC AND BEER

The coastal community of Piha at the west coast of Auckland has a long-standing reputation as a beach destination, and centre for surf and skate culture, as well as for its vibrant music scene. Local concerts or the annual event of the “Piha School of Rock” are filling the existing venues (Bowling Club, RSA and the Barnet Hall) to capacity. The local skate club has been lobbying the council for some years for a skate park.
This project is dedicated to enhance the community by building a new venue for music, skating and beachfront hospitality. the concept of the design is to combine the curves from the surroundings, such as the waves, sand dunes and the mountains to create a design that blends in with the landscape.
