SevGen Site Design/Branding Project

SevGen (https://www.sevgen.com.au/) is  impactful grass roots business that strengthens and develops community, based on the Sunshine Coast. "Seven Generations" is an Indigenous way of thinking that says "we must consider that our actions and deliberations of today will affect our people seven generations into the future, whilst drawing on the wisdom of seven generations past” This social enterprise aims to be self - sustaining and help their SevGen community meet their government obligations such as SPER, Work for the Dole, Job Seeker, while celebrating country through enterprises such as their mobile espresso coffee service, Bushtucker range and micro-agribusiness.
The design of the entire site has been considered from several aspects, focusing on the entrance and the hillside.
Firstly, a separate area near the entrance to the site was divided into concrete paving and used as a car park.
Then, in order to make it easier for people to reach the lake on both sides of the site, a number of boardwalks were designed to connect with the main road, and a number of multi-purpose platforms were created near the lake for meditation, rest and viewing.
Several stone paths have been planned in the interior of the forest, to make it easier for people to walk through the grounds and feel the nature, such as tree and water.

In addition, an area within the Peak Lodge courtyard has been designated with a concrete paved floor for a bonfire during festive celebrations. A rectangular platform has been created for daily activities, viewing and meditation.

Moreover, the future development of the site may require the provision of additional accommodation. Therefore, a separate living space (consisting of four circles in master plan) has been designed on the hillside, where chalets or other types of houses can be built for people to live in. Two boardwalks are connected to the main road and to the integrated activity space.
The activity space is designed to better serve the residential area. It can offer activities such as outdoor BBQs.

The section shows mainly the structure of the living area. On this circular wooden platform, houses can be built for people to live in. For example, The picture shows  a small, homely house with a folkloric character. This opportunity for future housing can be offered to the organisation to finance its activities. They can be rented out for funding when no one from the organisation is living there.

The activity area can be reached by walking along the side boardwalk.

The rendering shows the effect of the conceptual design of the activity area. A number of multifunctional platforms have been designed in here. The activity area is designed to provide a new outdoor space for the people of the residential area. Therefore, The outdoor kitchen is the primary element that has been taken into consideration, such as the one shown in the pictures. In the future the design of the outdoor kitchen will not only solve the problem of eating in the new settlement, but will also serve as a communal space for gathering and celebrations.

In addition, the area is airy, pleasant and quiet. The activity areas are also designed to be spacious enough and therefore ideal for outdoor meditation activities. This is one of the opportunities for future development. People with religion and beliefs can be attracted.
