Eyes of the sky
Personal project , aims to convey melancholy and mystery through a captivating painting, was chosen to perform the analogous harmony between purple, blue and red and their derivatives.
Sketch
Initially I thought of performing the painting with only black, white and purple. In this outline phase I focused on developing the main contrasts and defining the relevant elements of the illustration
Later I defined that the iris should be of a light violet tone, in contrast to the background, I also tested how it would look like to add cosmic dust in place of dots representing stars.
Rendering
It was at this stage that I decided to add red to the composition, kept the reticles and illuminated them to represent the stars harmoniously with the element of "cosmic dust".
I realized that it was interesting the interaction between the red, purple and blue and i also added details to the eyelids and eyelashes in these same shades
Final details
In this last step I detailed with textured brush, I added sparkles in the eyes, subtle colors in the eyebrows and refined the "cosmic dust" with more stars and lights
