Being gay in the '90s certainly
was not easy.
We grew up in the era where MTV, the Spice Girls and Punk marked the age of good music and the fight against the system. And there we could not miss it. That minority that began to gather their courage and turned all the main streets of the city into LGBTQ+ Pride parades in full color.
Some of us are engineers, hairdressers, dancers, others work in the government, in the supermarket, others are your cousin, your sister, your neighbor, anyone you pass by, could be part of the community.
Gay people are everywhere. 💅 🔥
The client
Jose is the creator of El Gay de la cuadra. He is a proudly gay journalist who writes about love and sex. And although sometimes his way of describing things seems like a Camila song, he doesn't stop imagining his life as a romantic comedy from the 90s, where someone will crash the books with him, and they will end up falling in love at first sight. I had the pleasure of working for him on this project.

Our goal
Nothing better than a dynamic brand for a dynamic concept. We aimed to create an identity that speaks as the “90’s” did, but with a 2021 attitude. A logo that has the ability to change and adapt to each concept project. A brand with its own vocabulary (Gay over it / Gayttitude first) and a color palette that begs for attention.

The Podcast
El Gay de la Cuadra is the gayest podcast in Latin America. An Atlanta-based 🇺🇸 show to drop the wig and talk about whatever we want.
This blog is to share and chats about different topics related to the LGBTQ + community, such as sexuality, diversity, everyday life, mental health, lifestyle, and general well-being, but from Jose's perspective. Also, it will be a portal where we will immerse ourselves in a real and romantic world with stories of real people, where the main menu is served with love and sex. This show includes stories from the community, interviews with specialists, experts, and celebrities.
