360° Animation of Sriwijaya's Maritime Trade
The Sriwijaya Kingdom was one of the largest maritime empires in Southeast Asia. In its golden age, Sriwijaya played an important role in maritime trade between China and the Middle East. In addition to its advantageous geographical location, this kingdom was reliable in establishing diplomatic relations, and was supported by a strong fleet. As the largest archipelagic country in the world, Indonesia’s maritime history is valuable to preserve. Therefore, it’s necessary to design a media able to present this information attractive to public audience. One of the possible media is a 360° video, which has the ability to show Sriwijaya’s historical atmosphere. The design is carried out by conducting literature studies, interviewing an expert, and surveying the target audience, all in accordance with the theory of 360° or semi-interactive virtual reality (VR) video.
