A small horrorgame I made as part of a market study I did. (explained on page)
I downloaded almost all of the assets to aim for gameplay and mainly the puzzle aspect on this one. I made the entire game in Unity, but the game extends out of Unity and will be played more out of the game than in the virtual world. (also explained on page)

This is a small horrorgame I made as part of a market research. I supposed that horrorgames did well on itch.io (the site where i post my games) So I tried to make a horrorgame as well and see how it went. It did pretty great and it proved my point. My game got millions of views on youtube and thousands of plays on itch.io.
For this game, i mainly focused on the game design and puzzle part instead of the assets. I downloaded the assets instead of creating them myself. The level and game is designed in a way that you can only get the good ending when you're not just brainlessly doing what the game tells you to do.
There are several hints in the game, on the game page and in the devlog. The biggest hint is also on the game page, warning you not to play the game without thinking ahead.
During the game, things change behind your back constantly. In a very subtle way so only the attentive player notice it. I also intentionally implemented some easter eggs that continue outside of the game (you need to decypher symbols of a certain runic alphabet, use a spectrograph to visualise a piece of sound.)
The player that pays attention to the changes that are constantly made will know how to complete the game and get the good ending. Then the player also gets rewarded with another small game (a prologue that shortly explains how the situation came to the point it currently is at.)
