Magazine Redesign—Print and EPUB

CHALLENGE
Redesign a magazine of choice in its entirety. Focus on type, color, grid, style and treatment
of imagery and layout, information hierarchy, and be mindful of the overall tone or voice of the magazine. Design a print and EPUB version.
SOLUTION
A redesign of Consumer Reports magazine. A compilation of stories from three CR magazines; October 2019, November 2019, April 2020 to create an environmental health edition (click on publication date to view Consumer Reports original magazine).

In the environmental health edition there is a feature article on breaking our water bottle habit as well as sub articles on plant milk, meatless burger options, and a Q&A on electric vehicles. This edition was designed for environmentally conscious individuals who would like to educate themselves on planet friendly products that are available on the market.

In the redesign, I concentrated on displaying the large amount of information in an organized, comprehensive manner while being playful and sticking to core values of Consumer Reports magazine: transparency, advocacy, information distribution, trustworthiness, and credibility.
