The exhibition is designed to highlight the period works of art using a highly contrasting palette. The swimming carp textile is the main inspiration for the graphic elements. The swimming carp and ripple element are used in the entry and repeated to guide to the visitor thru the exhibit. Tones of grey are used overall for the walls and panels, with navy and citron to highlight text panels and high points in visitor experience. The overall environment is minimalist to create a more dramatic impact for the nineteenth century period objects. The softer colors and pastels of the objects are elevated by contrast with the exhibit color scheme.
