There was a lady that spent 17K rub on pink braids. She looked kind of cool and horrible at the same time, and yet she inspired me. This painting was done with gouache and watercolours on a cold winter night in the capital of Russia. The way how her outfit unmatched was truly beautiful in all its ugliness. She's a small-town girl that hasn't seen much in life and has a rustic sense of style. I wanted to portray the feeling of desperation to be different from others. The feeling of not belonging in your surrounding and trying to stand out as much as possible. That feeling that you feel when you just want to scream from the inside, but your mouth stays shut.
