Veterans of Foreign Wars Honors Gulf War Veterans

After serving for a decade as a Marine, Adam Schwarze joined the US Navy as a Naval Special Warfare Officer in 2012. Based in Honolulu, Hawaii, Adam Schwarze is studying to earn a master of liberal arts with certificates in nuclear deterrence and international security at Harvard University Extension School, with a specific focus on counter insurgency and Middle Eastern studies. He also maintains affiliation with the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW).

On April 11, 2021, the VFW recognized the 30th anniversary of the cease-fire between the Iraqi government and coalition forces. The war veterans’ organization acknowledged the sacrifices of the 700,000 service members who served in the Gulf War.

While the land war only lasted 100 hours, it ultimately led to the liberation of the nation of Kuwait from invading forces. The swift, decisive victory was achieved through the combined efforts of US Marines, Coast Guard members, sailors, airmen, and soldiers.
