Puchenau – A Display Case Design
This is a display case design for the “Gartenstadt Puchenau”, a garden city in Upper Austria. The display case intends to inform residents but also visitors such as architecture students. Topics such as the garden city in general, concept and development of the “Gartenstadt Puchenau” current issues, architectural details, and the architect “Roland Rainer” are covered. The main part of the garden city was built in the 1960s, so I decided to incorporate the 60s style into the design – that is shape and colour. To help with the differentiation between the different topics each topic got its own colour.
Since I wanted to incorporate the surrounding landscape of the garden city itself in the showcase, I designed little trees and bushes that match the geometric shapes of the architecture of the garden city itself and the poster design. Those shapes are supposed to be of tinted but see-through foil that sticks to the glass. The Intention was to make use of the three-dimensionality of the showcase. The green bar behind the posters represents the hills around the garden city.
