A documentary photo essay "Miserable days in Chatham..."
Although all people that I have met and photographed on Chatham High Street are different and their appearances are very different, there is still something that merges them together. This miserable look that I meet on their faces is quite repeated. You can kind of tell they are from Chatham, making a cliche. I guess this is because of the area they live in. Every time I go to High Street I see a lot of people doing shopping, even in the working days it is busy out there, because Chatham is kind of best place for shopping in the whole Medway area.
From my experience, in living in Chatham I can tell that sometimes I look at those people and I feel miserable, because I know that this is not the best town in the world.
I have tried to capture and tell reality in my photos, because this is documentary images, I thought that it would be pointless to tell a story of a happy town, because this is not true!
