Voyager Golden Record poster

Personal project poster about the Golden Record carried by the spacrafts voyager 1 and 2 from NASA. Vector illustration.
Voyager 1 and 2 were launched with different trajectories in 1977.
Each spacecrafts carries a golden record, that contains sounds from earth (like wind or fire) greetings in 55 different languages, 115 images, and a selection of music from different cultures and eras, selected by a commite chaired by Carl Sagan. ♡ As a curiosity, the golden record also has a love story to tell, it contains Ann Druyan's brain waves. (she would later marry Carl Sagan) Druyan prepared a script to guide her thoughts, but as she says "on June 1, Carl and I shared a wonderfully important phone call, she recalls, we decided to get married. It was an eureka! moment for both of us" Echoes of that moment reverberated through her mind during the recording session.

"My feelings as a 27 year old woman, madly fallen in love, they're on that record"- "It's forever. It'll be true 100 million years from now. For me Voyager is a kind of joy so powerful, it robs you of your fear of death"

The record also includes instructions on how to play the record in mathematical language and a map of where we are located in the galaxy.

After a journey of more than 40 years, the voyager 1 and 2 continue with their mission of studying the limits of the solar system.

In 2012 Voyager 1 became the first human object to travel beyond the heliosphere and enter interstellar space, followed in 2018 by Voyager 2.
