Job
Create poster and flyer for a lecture by Professor Thomas Pogge (Yale University) on the subject of "A Just Global Health Care System" on 20 April 2011 at the Centre for Advanced Study in Bioethics (University of Münster).
Topic
About one third of all human deaths trace back to poverty-related causes. Poverty increases the vulnerability to diseases, e.g. by chronic malnutrition that affects approximately one billion people now. Poverty also blocks access to health care: to doctors and optimal medicine, which does not yet exist for many tropical diseases. Through creative reform approaches the health deficit of the poor could be reduced considerably.
Realisation
Pictures of different papermoney were printed, cut out, soaked in wallpaper adhesive and then glued on a Winnie the Pooh rubber ball. After drying, calcium pills were glued on top forming the continents. Photo taken with illumination through a single, simple desktop lamp. Only slight subsequent retouching.
