The impact that a product has on the environment is largely determined in the production process. With this handbag I was looking for a less negative impact on the environment.
To get an idea of how I can make this handbag more sustainable as an old handbag, I disassembled an existing handbag into its basic parts and materials and then looked for a circular solution.

For my own design I didn’t use glue. To design as sustainably as possible, I used the minimum amount of different materials and replaced the old materials with sustainable materials.

The result is a handbag made of cork leather with a simple design that is outside of contemporary fashion. The lining is made of linen and the buttons are made of wood.
