This is the first font that I've created and let me tell you - I've enjoyed the process immensely. Making it quirky and uneven has been the most fun. Actually trying it out was awesome too. Interesting fact: I created this font with Photoshop and Calligraphr. 

I think this one will look great in childrens' books. You can see a sample text at the end of this project. This font works great for any language that uses the Latin alphabet. You can even make Math equations with it, why not.
