Vanguard STEM Cover Art // Graphical Abstract

VanguardStem published a peer-reviewed article that has been selected as the cover art for the entire journal. As such, they had been asked to provide a “graphical abstract” that represents the main ideas and themes we outlined in our paper. 

They wanted the image to evoke a sense of spacetime and gravity in a speculative fiction sense, but also incorporate a sense of community and identity. Their work centers around the experiences of Black women, in particular, and more broadly Black, Indigenous, Women of color and non-binary people of color in STEM.
