... IS THE WAY to be

Concept
To date, military operations are still ongoing in Ukraine. This war does not a starting points, rules or truce. Life has changed into “before” and “after”, into war-torn areas and those that continue to live peacefully thanks to the military holding our borders. The war has affected everyone: if not directly, then with a full understanding and readiness to defend their identity, statehood and independence. War.
War.
The main idea is to reveal that emotional feeling, the turning point that everyone feels when their life is divided into “before” and “after” the war. Before the war they were a happy nation with their own culture, powerful history and unbroken will, which is reflected in the traditional Ukrainian costume. After ― these bright colors that are inherent in our culture are dissolving into endless protective green and turning into splashes flying off from under the wheels of heavy machinery.
Ukraine is always depicted as a young, beautiful girl with a large wreath of flowers on her head against the blue sky and a boundless field of sunflowers.
Today she is a young, strong, beautiful woman who is ready at any moment to stand behind her husband, a warrior. She stands confidently looking to the future, holding the sky with her faith.
When creating the collection, I focused, first of all, on designing the main look that had to convey the predominant emotion, the transformation of happiness and peace into unhappiness and destruction. Contrasting colours from the Ukrainian costume as well as the poppy as a symbol of peaceful life were used as opposed to the military colour of camouflage and barbed wire. Barbed wire intertwined with the poppy is a means of drawing attention to the fact of remembering that the war in Ukraine has not yet come to an end.
