I made the following publications for my final year project.
The first book is called 'Dinge und Zeug-Universität der Technologie und Kreativen Kuntschule Universität'. The content of this publication was based on the AUT University Calendar 2013 which has been altered and applied to the fictional university, Dinge und Zeug-Universität der Technologie und Kreativen Kunstschule Universität for the purpose of this project.
However, essentially the real purpose of this book is to exemplify a (surface level) sampling of the changing guidelines of post-modern Graphic Design. The outer pages display the ‘bad design’ of the conten. The publication is in French fold and so display ‘bad design’ on the outer pages and while concealing ’good design’ on the inside pages.
The spreads push all design elements and exceed all design boundaries. The book encourages you to know the guidelines in creating ‘good design’ as a designer, yet not be afraid to push the boundaries and break the rules.
The second book is called 'How to be a Graphic Designer while slightly losing your mind'. This publication simply contains the guidelines of how to be a graphic designer. There is a total of 123rules with inserts of images and readings to go along with them.
