Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G – Iceland

I got the exciting opportunity from Xiaomi to travel around the south coast of Iceland with the brand new Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G and test the features and photography possibilities of the 108-megapixel camera. — Here are a few impressions of what that looked like:
Camera Specifications
The Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G uses Samsung's new 1/1.52" ISOCELL HM2 image sensor with 108 MP (effective resolution 12,000 x 9,000px), which Xiaomi has complemented with an 8 MP ultra-wide-angle camera (FOV 120°, f/2.2 large aperture) along with a 2 MP macro camera and a 2 MP depth camera. The in-display front camera has a 16 MP sensor.

Rear camera features: 108MP wide-angle camera | Timed burst | 6 long exposure modes | New photo filters: cyberpunk, gold vibes, black ice | Document mode | HDR | AI scene detection | Ultra wide-angle edge distortion correction | Google Lens | AI beautify | Portrait mode background blur adjustment | Movie frame | Night mode 2.0 | Panorama | Pro mode | Raw mode
I was really impressed with the image quality in low-light situations, such as in the glacier ice cave or at dusk, even without a tripod. But what stood out the most for me was the high level of detail in natural textures like ice, sand or rock, which was of course very important for me. The device also coped well with the harsh winter climate on Iceland. In summary, it was a very interesting experience for me to capture the winter landscape of Iceland through the lens of a smartphone and experiment with what is possible and how far you can go.
