Library of Congress Site Redesign

This project is a redesign concept of Library of Congress (LOC)'s website that average 7 million unique visitors a month and over 2.7 million collection items online in a variety of formats.

The project is done for the UX Result Hackathon dated December 5, 2020. The team consisted of 3 members - Project Manager, Researcher, and Designer.

Problem Statement
Users do not currently understand or fully use the breadth of the Library of Congress collections.

How might we promote discovery for students and researchers so they can have a joyful experience that activates continued learning?
Low Fidelity Wireframes
The team conducted a usability test on the low fidelity wireframes and tweaked the design based on the test results. For example, the users said they were confused by the functionalities of the location cluster and the timeline cluster. Thus the design was revised to include a brief summary of what the clusters are.
High Fidelity Wireframes
