My mother photographs flowers in her garden and sends them as daily digital greetings to family and friends overseas. Her nonverbal online communication is the starting point for this body of work.

Wishing You Well is an artwork built on two experiences - on-site and online. Projected at Casula Powerhouse is a digital mural capturing the word "blooming" constructed from over 1000 flowers collages. This work depicts the flowers as an elegant concept of beauty, resilience and connectivity, which resonates with many cultures.

Inspired by our nonverbal online communication via memes, photos and emojis, an augmented reality filter was created as part of the work. The user is encouraged to interact with this work through facial expressions.

Amid a global pandemic, our way of communicating and connecting has shifted significantly. The work addresses this new dynamic of communication in our changing world of digital possibilities.

Decided colour of the flowers transitions to be light pink, dark pink to red

Decided on pale and pastel colour palette for the background to compliment the flowers
