Piscina Mirabilis (Archviz)

My friend Ale, who is an architect, submitted this work as part of her entry for Reuse Italy, a contest where the challenge was to repurpose an Ancient Roman freshwater cistern into a museum.

I like how these renders came out. We didn’t win but that’s ok. This is is the upper part of the project, basically the roof of the cistern.
This is the actual reservoir with its huge arches, its waterholes and maze; the light strip on the floor is there to echo what once were enormous quantities of water that served the Roman citizens near Bacoli in Naples.
Thanks for watching!
