There are popular places to travel and there are "popular" neighborhoods that not many want to visit.
But what do these neighborhoods keep? What would you think if I told you that these places have essence, flavor, color, vibes.
When you grow up surrounded in this environment, you know that not everything is bad and that the light shines even here.This is the project purpose, that people get to know a little about these neighborhoods, without having to go out, get to know their music, their colors and their lives.
Discrimination and prejudice are a big problem, let's not forget that there is good even here.
Photographs of popular neighborhoods will be taken, first in Mexico. These photographs will be intervened with collage, inspired by Japanese artists such as Koji Nagai and Tadanori Yokoo.
This collage will be animated to the rhythm of a song that identifies the neighborhood that is being talked about.
Some important points from the final picture:
- In the middle the metro sign.
- The boxer is Ruben "el puas" Olivares, a mexican world champion boxer, now you can meet him in La Lagunilla street market,
- The wrestler. "El espectro" He came from a wrestler family, He was from La Lagunilla.
- Mariachis. Garibaldi is a place fulled with mariachi and mexican music, Garibaldi is in La Lagunilla.
- Sofia Perdigon. She is a mexican actress. She was a character in a famous mexican movie called "Lagunilla mi barrio".
- The antiques. There is a street antique market in la Lagunilla, a famous place in México City.
- Background music playing. The song ins "Over the waves" a classical masterpiece, author is Juventino Rosas , he was from México, from La Laguilla.
