'LA STOFFA DEL CAMPIONE' POSTER
FONDAZIONE FILA MUSEUM
Participation at "Creativi in FILA" Contest 2020 on the occasion of the celebrations of the 10th anniversary of the FILA Museum Foundation (Biella).
I chose Bjorn Borg's famous pinstripe polo shirt as the main reference for this poster, evoking the unique and minimalist style through the choice of a few colours and elements.
I have maintained the proportions between the parts. The framed "F" is positioned as if it were the embroidery on the shirt while, as in a selvedge, the red and infinitely repeated FILA logo goes to make up the stripes. In one of them I introduced the phrase "LA STOFFA DEL CAMPIONE" ("The stuff of champions").
"The stuff of champions" means standing out for talent and ability compared to others, intrinsic qualities "sewn" on oneself, like a tailor-made suit.
This concept can apply to both the garment and the athlete. It can be said that Borg proved to have the makings of a champion with his career, the FILA pinstriped polo shirt is iconically the makings of a champion. But the most relevant interpretation is that FILA designed and created the fabric of champions and distinguished itself in the world for its skills.
