Over the past 10 years, I have produced hundreds of illustrations for Chinese National Geographic, recreating China's geography, history and human landscape, of which this is a part.


Tulou Past
A recreation of a tragic battle that took place at Qiyunlou, a tulou in Fujian Province, China, in the late Qing Dynasty, between the armed insurgents of the Tianping Heavenly Kingdom and the attacking Qing army.
The Great Bombing of Chongqing
Description The five-and-a-half-year strategic bombing of Chongqing, the wartime capital of the Republic of China, by Japan between 1938 and 1943. A heroic city, a tragic history.
Tibetan Watchtower
Description of the characteristic dwelling of Tibet, China: the watchtower. Watchtowers are usually built on the top of a hill or on the edge of a wetland, with stone masonry walls. For defense function, built like a solid tower of a blockhouse.
Kangxi Duolun meeting
It depicts the meeting of the Kangxi Emperor of the Qing Dynasty with the Mongolian nobles in 1691 at Duolunnor to strengthen the northern border defense and management of the Khalkha Mongols and to reduce ethnic conflicts and strife.
Ancient Charm of Corridor Bridge
Corridor bridges are covered bridges that protect the bridge and provide shelter from the sun and rain. There are many corridor bridges in China that span over a thousand years and are a precious material cultural heritage.
Ningbo Port 1854
A recreation of the busy port of Ningbo, Zhejiang Province, China, a hundred years ago when the country was first opened to foreign trade. You can see the Shikumen buildings on the shore, which combine Chinese and Western styles, and the Bao Shun, a large fireboat purchased from British merchants.
The Battle of Xingkai Lake
Xingkai Lake is located in Mishan City, Heilongjiang Province, China, and is the border lake between Russia and China. More than a hundred years ago, Chinese soldiers fought a heroic war of defense against the Russian invasion.

Ancient Chinese military fortification, a long, strong and continuous wall and defense system.
Hangquangyi Station
Located in Dunhuang, Gansu, China, the Hanging Spring Station is a testament to the ancient Silk Road.
Long Xing Chang Ancient Town
One hundred years ago, the government of the Qing Dynasty of China implemented the policy of "opening up the farming area and lending land to support the people" in the frontier areas, and developed an ancient town, the Wuyuan County Town in Inner Mongolia.
