My entry for the Locarno Film Festival Poster Contest.

I developed my design inspired by the rich and metallic black of the film reel, combined with the almost liquid movement of the leopard, the mascot of the Locarno Film Festival.

Previous designs I tried and other drafts below. My first efforts were more similar to the previous Locarno posters: a more analogue look, traditional painting and inks, but I felt that the festival needed something more abstract.
