The client is a private entity distilling his own whiskey, gin, bourbon and absinthe in the beautiful Sunvalley, South Africa. Shortly before Christmas he requested some label designs, incorporating the existing tree-themed estate logo. The products were to be bottled and labelled as gifts for friends and family. Each variant has it's own front and back labels with a paragraph explaining the unique qualities the product has to offer. An orange, burnt orange, brown and black colour scheme was used to co-inside with the estate's corporate identity.

The client was a start-up company, and has created a range of cleaning products. The product name, description and other details were supplied in a spreadsheet. Each product was available in 750ml and 5L containers. After creating the logo, the brief was to create a label for each product and supply the artwork in print-ready format.

Most of my experience with boxes derives from clients wishing to update or modernise the design of their packaging. This involves redrawing the dieline and then thinking three-dimensionally in order to create suitable artwork for each area: where is the back and where is the front? Which side does the box open, and do I rotate the lid design to face the correct way when the box is closed? For me the highlight of these projects is always when the mockup-box is printed and assembled for the first time, seeing how "outside the box" literally comes together!
Note: The logo above was an existing element incorporated on the packaging design.
