Story Behind: It was all started with the pandemic. Yes of course, one of my plans this year was to visit Bali, Indonesia, yet I ended up staying home and creating another dummy tourism magazine about all the places I always wanted to visit instead.
I remember the idea of a dummy magazine had been introduced to me by one of my lecturers at college. It was in my final year to graduate, and the class he taught me and my fellows was called Newsroom Management. It was so much fun creating a dummy magazine at that time that I told myself someday, I'm gonna create another one when I have a better knowledge in graphic design.
That someday is a day of May in 2020. Since I cannot travel far this year, so I decided to pour all my desire and creativity into this 2nd dummy travel magazine, with its name called Onism.
I read your mind. You may wonder what the word "Onsim" means?
According to Quora, the word "Onism" in traveling means "... the frustration of being stuck in just one body, that inhabits only one place at a time , which is like standing in front of the departures ..."
To me, the word "Onism" could mean beyond that. It can describe the feeling of enthusiasm, desire, and passion for travel. It is like an ambition (or a greed) to visit beautiful places all at once as many as possible, but realizing you cannot so why not just keep calm, and enjoy each moment you have to visit a certain place, one at a time?
Onism consists of 18 pages. Since this is a dummy magazine, I used some fake ads and free-copyright photos from pinterest, unsplash, & pixbay.
