After Effects

The objective of this assignment was to either create new or use previous designs and make them into a motion graphic. I started this assignment with the assumption that I was going to use my Christmas icons and create a story line with them. I used the Christmas icons and created a storyboard, I wanted to keep my motions simple. Below is an example of the storyboard.

After creating the storyboard I wasn't set on using the Christmas icons. I decided to start over and create new assets for my motion graphic. I decided to create something that I would feel confident in making move, again I wanted to keep it simple because this is my first time using Adobe After Effects. Below is a picture of the assets I used to create my motion graphics. I created a hot air balloon flying over rolling hills. My professor suggested that I had more details and so I added a sun, clouds and trees.

I received critique from my professor and classmates, who all suggested that I add different types of trees so they're not all the same. I also wanted to try something creative and make the hot air balloon look as if it were actually traveling through time. With the help of classmates, I learned how to create that effect. I simply just had to make the hill and tree art board bigger and mess with the position, this is what added the moving effect. Below is my final animation of the hot air balloon!
