The stories depict various events from the giraffe's life, such as her first ballet class and some unusual fashion choices. The giraffe's character accurately reflects the author's own experiences, highlighting both her struggles and opportunities. Throughout the book, everyday objects like doorways, chairs, and jeans are used to emphasize the giraffe's awkward and clumsy nature. This autobiographical work is aimed at young readers between the ages of 4 and 10.
