Lore is a subscription box service that provides fantasy books that focus on diversity and inclusion.

The box created was the monthly box for October 2020. The book that was featured was Cemetery Boys by Aiden Thomas, a recently released book that includes a transgender Latinx protagonist who summons a ghost.

One of the pieces included in the subscription box is a card that describes the contents of that month's box. This card can also function as a bookmark, providing a physical reminder that customers can keep as a reminder of Lore and their branding. 

Stickers including Lore's logo were also created. In the October 2020 monthly box, this sticker is placed on the lid of the candle included in the box. These stickers would be included in some of the monthly boxes, and would also be available online for purchase.

Two items were included within the October 2020 edition of the Lore subscription box. The first is a candle based on the treats made on Día De Los Muertos, a holiday which occurs in the box. The other is an enamel pin that features the main character Yadriel's portaje and a quote from the book.

Creating a project brief was one of the first steps in this project. Creating a project brief allowed me to consider the client, objectives, target audience, and the tone & image for the project before beginning the design work.

Seen on the left are the initial rough sketches for the project. I began with listing graphic elements that I felt would match the project, and created sketches from there. As I created different iterations, I circled the ones I thought fit the project best. These were transferred onto the page on the right, and presented to the class for feedback.

To create a unified branding design, I used the same four colors, repeated elements, and fonts throughout the project. There were three different versions of the logo (text, graphic, and graphic & text), which could be either gold or white depending on where the logo was being used.
