A few weeks ago we hit the desert to explore the sand dunes with Dusty & Kayla. After driving through an absolute down pour through the mountains, we were expecting to hit snow on the way out here. Little did we know that we would be entering one of the worst sand storms of the season. Barely able to open our car doors, we wandered out to the point, covering our face and cameras from the specs of sand that came flying our direction. As tough as it was to shoot in, The wind made the photos that much more dramatic and after a short shoot out in the sand dunes we were about over it and decided to head back to more stable weather conditions. After pulling over on the I-8 we found a grafittied abandoned tire shop which we were stoked on and ended the engagement session with a rustic vibe for their engagement photos. Take a look below!
This has been our third time adventuring out to the sand dunes in Glamis and they are absolutely mind blowing! To think that we have something like this 2 and a half hours away from home is crazy! It was so fun getting out here to take desert engagement photos for Kayla and Dusty and although the conditions were a bit hectic they turned out better than if there was no sand storm! We love getting to shoot in new locations and switching it up as oppose to staying local, as San Diego photographers we have the opportunity to hit so many different types of scenery for local engagement photos.
