Neuronal Wiring Cover Art Design

"Neuronal Wiring" is an upcoming podcast by Stanford molecular biologist and science communicator Neha Arora. The podcast seeks to integrate the fields of neurobiology and psychology as scientifically as possible.

The final direction for the cover was to simplify and only slightly nod towards the subject matter of the podcast, such that there would be adequate legroom for what the content would eventually be.
I created a character collage of different sized heads intermingling with the logo. This would allow for the logo to be perfectly legible, while its transparency against the human heads under and in front of it would appear complementary.
Further, this would allow for the sound wave visualisation to be the starkest element of the visual, while also not taking away from the characters.
This direction also allowed for the same podcast to be extended into a horizontal banner for the podcast's website.

Final Cover Art for Podcast, a mosaic of human faces of different sizes, intermingling with the logo, juxtaposing human shapes against vector perfect geometric ones.
Logo iterations that ranged from letter forms, minimal symbols, to a final integration of a sound-wave visualisation in the shape of a human brain
