Dimensions: 7 x 3.5 x 5
For this piece, I wanted to emphasize movement and portray some tension in the pose. I fist created a wire frame, then took clay that hardens in the oven and sculpted over top. After he was finished baking, I finished him of by using the patina technique. I very much enjoyed sculpting this cheetah, however there were still problems throughout the process. After he was just about completely sculpted I discovered a major problem which compromised the success of the whole sculpture. Luckily, I was able to solve it with help from my instructor. Moral to the story: Access all potential problems in the first place so they don’t stress you out later down the road.
