CORE2291 Design Lab 1: Project 2 Illustrator Techniques
This project is about practicing and creating our own design patterns.  I started out with redrawing the Coca-Cola logo.  The goal of this project was to learn more about Adobe Illustrator's various uses besides tracing with the pen tool.  Additionally, the deliverables involved turning in the .ai files of what my patterns looked like, the redraw of the Coca-Cola logo, and a presentation board for the final product.
Illustrator Techniques
1.  I created and arranged the swatches accordingly for the redraw of the Coca-Cola logo.
2.  I started tracing the outline of the logo using the pen tool.
3.  Finished outline of the logo.
4.  Finished redraw of the logo with a red gradient circle behind the word Coca-Cola.
5.  Same redraw of the logo but with no red circle and the logo is colored red with a white trademark.
6.  Upon closer inspection, the original trademark text is tossed to another art board for later use.  Spare parts of the project are always useful.
Visual Exploration:  Pattern Design
Initial Sketches
1.  Sketched the pieces I wanted to implement into my pattern and converted them into templates.
2.  Pieces have been fully rendered and outlined.  I learned to use the shape builder tool to cut out holes and attach shapes together.  Additionally, I also used the gradient and pattern tool to create highlights and patterns.
3.  Shown below are my finished patterns.
