Explorations of the Madonna

This project serves as a continuation and a deeper exploration of the image of the Madonna. Each image incorporates the familiar depiction of Mary, the Mother of Jesus, juxtaposed with non-religious imagery. The additional imagery included consists of materials familiar and dear to graphic designers and artists; paint brushes, Pantone chips, and the Adobe platforms. My intention with these prints was to show an exaggerated and eye catching form of sentimentalism by illustrating imagery familiar to both designers and religious individuals.
The three images were originally intended to be screen prints, again to replicate the process of mass production. However, due to the current circumstances, the screen printing process was not able to be continued.
