Oil and Mixed Media Paintings

TAFE Brief: Year long project - 'Alice in Wonderland', oil on canvas, 100cm x 120cm, 2020. Winner of the 'Best Oil Painting' prize in Melbourne Polytechnic graduate exhibition; Illustre x Epoch.

This oil painting is a representation of my mental illnesses through the use of Alice In Wonderland imagery. The White Rabbit depicts my Social Anxiety, the Cheshire Cat depicts my Generalised Anxiety, and the Queen of Heart depicts my Chronic Depression. Each character displays Alice wearing the mask/head of the aforementioned characters, Alice in this case being the embodiment of myself. My goal was to create a dichotomy between the head and body, illustrating how my mental illnesses dictate my everyday life despite how unaffected I appear on the surface.
'Hair Like Fine Gold', Oil and Acrylic on Canvas, 2020.

This painting was my entry for Melbourne Polytechnic's 'Fact or Fiction' competition. The piece is my rendition of the Brother's Grimm 'Rapunzel', and communicates the tragic loss of freedom that was forced upon her.

The piece was sold after the opening night of the exhibition.
TAFE Brief: Homage project - 'Ethereal', oil on hot pressed watercolour paper, 300gsm, 29.7cm x 42cm.

This piece is dedicated to the wonderful Happy D who was the first artist I truly looked up to and exposed me to the world of Pop Surrealism. My goal was to paint something that was clearly influenced by her style, but to also have it look like one of my own works. Depicted is a nude female who has moss and mushrooms growing out of her body, surrounded by lunar moths and an ethereal glow.
'Mother of the Sea', Oil on Canvas, 2019.

A woman who cares so deeply and passionately about the sea that she absorbs it. Her eyes merge and transform into a protective bubble; an aquarium for all sea life.

This painting won third place in the oil painting category at the Liverpool Art Society, annual exhibition in New South Wales.
TAFE Illustration Assignment Brief: Book cover artwork. Oil painting on canvas.

An oil painting for the book cover of 'IT' by Stephen King.
TAFE Illustration Assignment Brief: Know Your Medium. Oil on Canvas, 2020.

An oil painting for an assignment that discussed one's favourite medium. The subjects are Care Bears walking into the sunset.
TAFE Illustration Brief: Editorial Illustration. Oil on Canvas, 2020.

This assignment was to create an editorial illustration for an article that didn't have an illustration paired with it. The painting is based on an article about Valentines Day, discussing 'Lupercalia' which is a pagan fertility tradition.
